Neymar hints at Man United move
Neymar is aware of interest from Chelsea and Manchester United and is anticipating an offer from Jose Mourinho’s side this summer, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho has been enquiring about a possible deal that would see Neymar make a move to Old Trafford this summer. According to whom, you ask? None other than the Brazilian sensation himself.
The Daily Record claims the Barcelona forward ‘believes’ United are willing to trigger his €200 million (£169m) release clause, having already been promised by the Premier League club that they will match his wage demands.United’s current top earner, Paul Pogba, was given a £290,000-a-week deal when he signed for United last summer and remains the highest-paid player in the Premier League.
The outlet suggests that Neymar has told friends that both Manchester United and Chelsea have been asking the Barcelona brass if they might part with the 25-year-old, with Mourinho “particularly persistent in his courtship” as he looks to chart a way forward next season after losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to a long-term injury last Thursday in the Europa League.
The report also claims that Chelsea and United have both asked if Neymar would force a move away from Camp Nou at the end of the season. The Brazil international only signed a contract renewal last October and is now earning just over €300,000 (£260,000) a week.
